Why did the customer contact us?
Jeff and Katie O’Brien reached out from their beautiful colonial-grid style home in Scioto Reserve. They loved the classic character of their house but felt the traditional grid patterns on the front windows looked dated and too similar to neighboring homes. They wanted a more distinctive, modern exterior appearance that would better highlight their stone facade. In the back, their living room felt somewhat dark due to a large drywall section between two smaller windows—they were hoping to bring in significantly more natural light with a bigger, more open window design.
Solutions provided:
We updated the front windows with a clean and contemporary two-over-two single vertical grid pattern... simple, elegant, and a clear departure from the standard colonial grids. To make the stone really stand out, we installed dove gray aluminum coil trim around the windows, creating a sophisticated two-tone contrast that gives the home a fresh, polished look.
In the living room, we removed the center drywall entirely and installed a large, stunning picture window. This dramatically increased natural light, opened up the entire space, and gave the room a bright, airy feel that the homeowners absolutely love.
This project shows how thoughtful updates can modernize a classic home while preserving its original charm... resulting in a standout exterior and a much brighter, more inviting interior. Jeff and Katie were thrilled with the transformation!
